Baby Registry Guide

Congratulations, you’re having a baby! Or maybe you already have a little one and you’re looking to make some changes for this next go around. Registries can be so overwhelming! The baby space is saturated with so many products for sleeping, eating, feeding, play, etc. It’s hard to know what you’ll need or really USE. Our team collaborated and came up with Registry “BESTS” for baby, mom, sleep, play, bath time, feeding, safety & hygiene and more.

These are our top picks for all things baby, and the best part is we’ve used them ALL!

  1. Copper Pearl Sleep Sack: My absolute favorite sleep sacks - they wash and wear so well and you don’t have to take it off to change baby in the middle of the night! The zipper at the bottom is the best!

  2. Halo Swivel Bassinet: Aly loved how this swivels right over your bed to be close to baby while practicing safe sleep. It was also rated “Best Bassinet” by Parents Magazine and The Bump!

  3. Guava Lotus Travel Crib: For my nursing-to-sleep daughter, this one was a good fit for traveling! You can nurse in side-lying with baby inside the travel crib and you on the outside- then zip up the side when you’re done and they are in their own space! We also have the bassinet attachment and used it when she was very little. It also folds up small for travel.

  4. O2 Baby Sleepers: I love these! 100% organic cotton, so soft, and wash & wear really well.

  5. Burts Bees Sleepers (boy’s & girl’s): I love these organic cotton sleepers! They wash well and come in so many fun prints. The grippy feet are great once baby starts moving!

  6. Hatch Rest: I love using this at home and packing on the go! You can program it to come on and turn off from your phone, and easily control the loudness level from another room. Remember to keep the sound machine about 6 feet or more from baby and no louder than 50 dB. Downloading a decibel reader app can help you make sure it’s not too loud.

  7. Dimmable Portable Night Light: Every mom should have one of these! Dim it with just a push of your finger and flip it over completely to turn it off. Perfect for middle of the night feedings and diaper changes.

  8. Naturepedic Crib Mattress Cover: Protect your crib mattress! The worst is a leaked diaper in the middle of the night, and this protector saves your mattress! Made from organic cotton, this one is breathable, machine washable, and made by a small business.

  9. Babyletto Nami Glider: This glider is quiet and buttons make it easy to recline, and go back to sitting upright - all the while having a place to charge your phone! Reinforced cushions make is so comfortable. Easily the comfiest glider I have ever sat in.

  10. Babyletto Hudson Convertible Crib: This three-in-one crib is Greenguard Gold Certified and nontoxic. It becomes a toddler bed and a day bed, too. I love the Babyletto Pure Core mattress to go with it as well!

  11. Infant Optics Monitor: Jenna and I both have this one and really like it! It doesn’t connect to WiFi and has good picture and sound. Plus if you have two littles to watch, it works for that too!

  1. Vera Bradley Pajamas: If you watch my stories on Instagram, you know these VB pajamas are a favorite and are worn on repeat. Such cute prints and 100% cotton. I love them so much, I have 4 sets! They frequently go on sale, so keep an eye out!

  2. Kindred Bravely Sublime Nursing Bra: This was a fan favorite when I sourced the community for the best nursing bra! Kindred Bravely has great quality bras for postpartum. Jenna LOVED hers.

  3. Fruit of the Loom Cotton Bras: Okay, these are so comfortable and I wear them all the time. Affordable and nursing friendly, too! And if you like to sleep in a cami or bralette, these are perfect!

  4. Silverettes: I used these postpartum to help prevent mastitis as silver is a natural antibacterial. Especially early on, these were so helpful!

  5. Sollybaby Wrap: Such a comfortable wrap and great for the newborn to 3 month stage. It really can make baby feel safe and secure like the womb. Machine washable, too!

  6. Dagne Dover Indi Diaper Bag: My favorite diaper bag - and I’ve trialed a lot! This bag is spacious, great quality, and the zippers only require one hand. A game changer. “EATPLAYSAY20” saves 20% through 5/31.

  7. Baby Brezza: This machine mixes a bottle of formula perfectly in 10 seconds or less, and you can select the temperature setting. Jenna loved this when her daughter started taking formula. It makes bottle prep so easy.

  8. Claw Clips: The medium size makes them great for different hair lengths! Throw your hair up in a clip and instantly feel a little more put together :)

  9. Hydroflask: Staying hydrated is so important during pregnancy and postpartum! I love my Hydroflask for on-the-go, and around the house! Stainless steel and holds 40 ounces. One of my fave spill-proof cups!

  10. BabyBuddha Breast Pump: This pump was recommended by my IBCLC if I needed to pump on-the-go as it has great suction for a portable pump! Highly rated among my friends as well!

  11. Earth Mama Nipple Butter: Made with organic ingredients and safe for baby, we all used this postpartum. No lanolin, and really helps soothe and hydrate sore/cracked nipples. You can even use it on your lips or dry skin!

  12. Kindred Bravely Sublime Sports Pumping Bra: Another fan favorite when I sourced the community for the best bras postpartum! This pumping bra was the most popular response. Jenna LOVED her pumping bras from this company - totally worth the investment.

  1. Little Planet Long Sleeve Onesies: These are a great basic for baby, especially in the early days! They’re 100% organic cotton and wash well.

  2. Little Planet Short Sleeve Onesies: Another great basic, and they come in cute prints and colors for any style. Also 100% organic cotton and great quality!

  3. Muslin Swaddles: These are so functional! Use them to swaddle baby, keep one in the diaper bag if you need a clean space to lay baby down, use for a swaddle bath, and more.

  4. Copper Pearl Burp Cloths: My favorite burp cloths. They’re a great size (bigger IS better!) and wash well - and they come in fun colors.

  5. Zutano Booties: My favorite booties! They’re 100% cotton and never fall off! We love these. Perfect as baby gets to moving too, as they have little grippies on the bottom.

  6. Avent Soothie: This pacifier has a narrow slope and cylindrical shape that’s great for promoting tongue cupping. Feeding specialist approved!

  7. Monthly Milestone Markers: I have these and love using them for photos ops with the kids so I can easily look back at the photos and know what age they were! You can use again for siblings if/when your family grows, too.

  8. Pacifier Clips: Cannot have enough of these! I like these because they are fabric- which means they can go in the washer and aren’t made of little balls that could be a choking risk if they fall off the clip!

  9. First Year Calendar: I have one of these for Paul and P, and I love going back and reading the notes and milestones I wrote during each week of their first year!

  1. Copper Pearl Wash Cloths: We love how soft these bamboo washcloths are. They wash and wear well and are the perfect size for baths!

  2. Silicone Squirt Toys: Great for the bath. Squirt your little one, and have some fun! Open them to let them dry and no mold will grow inside. WIN!

  3. Lalo Bathtime Full Kit: This is the best bath for newborn to toddlerhood! It can transform into three different configurations, and it provides good support to newborns. Plus, it’s design doesn’t trap water- so no mold! The Full Kit comes with knee and elbow savers for parents leaning over, which is a GAME CHANGER when you’re kneeling for bath! “EATPLAYSAY” saves 10%!

  4. Carina Organics Baby Shampoo & Wash: Jenna loves this clean, unscented shampoo and body wash for her kiddos. They both have sensitive skin and it doesn’t dry their skin out!

  5. Sassy Waterfall: This is so entertaining for little ones and sticks right to the wall of the tub! Prompt your little one to pour water in it as they get older.

  6. Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Castile Soap: We love this unscented soap as it is gentle on baby’s skin!

  7. Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Castile Bar Soap: It also comes in a bar and we use this to lather the washcloth.

  8. Copper Pearl Hooded Towel: Keep that head warm with a hooded towel! Plus, littles love their little cocoon after bath.

  9. Silicone Stacking Cups: Another fun option for water play with holes on the bottoms and different animals, too! Since these are silicone, they can be mouthed and used as teethers, too - and dishwasher safe.

  1. Crinkle Fish: This doubles as a book AND a toy! I love that it has little flaps to encourage reaching and grasping, a teether, a squeaker, AND a mirror. It’s a great toy for the car, tummy time, and while sitting on your lap!

  2. Lalo Play Gym: This play gym is very lightweight and can go wherever you are easily! The black and white links are very durable, high contrast and motivate baby to reach and grab them. Plus they are nice and thick silicone for grasping and using as a teether. Hang other faves from the bar for variety. “EATPLAYSAYsaves 10%.

  3. Rolly Poly Owl: We have this and love it to engage baby in sensory play with bouncy balls, glowing lights and fun songs and sounds.

  4. Nuby Teether: This is my favorite first teether for baby! It is easy to hold, doesn’t go back too far in the mouth, has subtle bristles that give some texture, and it comes with its own hygienic carrying case.

  5. Contrast Book: We know that babies cannot see so well early on, so the higher contrast the toys, the better! It keeps baby’s attention and helps them scan the pages. Soft books are also easier for baby to hold and explore.

  6. Baby Einstein Musical Toy: Perfect for 3 months and older, this rattle plays the best classical beats and motivates baby to keep hitting that big button to hear more!

  7. Hedgehog Grasping Toy: A great first rattle and has pointed teether parts on top that are great for mouthing! I recommend introducing around 2-3 months once baby starts reaching for items in the play gym. Bringing a toy like this to their mouth is usually the first step for self-feeding (already, I know, how cool right?!)

  8. Comotomo Teether: My all-time favorite teether! It is easy to hold and has finger-like stubs that are great for baby to chomp on, without them going too far back to constantly gag! I recommend introducing this one around 4-5 months of age and continue to offer in play as baby nears 1.

  9. Hungry Caterpillar Car Seat Toy: It plays the CUTEST song “You are my Sunshine.” And the different tags, teethers, and little mirror motivate baby reach and grab.

  10. See Me Floor Mirror: This is my favorite floor time mirror for a few reasons! It has a little rolling ball at the bottom so when baby reaches for it, the ball spins! It also has crinkle components and the mirror is large, so baby can see themselves well.

  11. Avocado Guitar: A FAVE! Baby will love to try and spin the avocado pit, push the light up buttons, and hear the riffs on the guitar. It’s been a favorite for my littles from 3-18 months!

  12. Tummy Time Water Mat: This viral mat really does keep baby’s attention! As they move and lay on it, the pieces inside move around and keep baby’s attention! As they get older, they will tap and reach for the mat too. Great bang for your buck!

  13. O-Ball: This is a classic gift for a little one under 6 months. It supports grasping (a skill we expect to emerge between 3-4 months of age and refine closer to 6 months), and it’s colorful design is great for a little one’s eyesight. For just a few bucks, it’s a great toy!

  1. Dr. Brown’s Glass Bottles: Glass bottles with a silicone sleeve (optional to put on). I like these because it’s Dr. Brown’s Options brand which means you don’t even need to use the green plastic insert that comes along with it! It can be a COMPLETELY plastic-free bottle if you want it to be. I used these with P when she was younger from time to time and Jenna used for her daughter, too!

  2. Evenflo Glass Bottles: If you’re looking for glass bottles for your baby, this is another good option. Thermal resistant glass and venting within the nipple helps with a slower flow to baby. The long, sloped nipples promote deep breast-like latch and tongue cupping, so they are feeding specialist approved.

  3. EZPZ Tiny Bowl: This silicone suction bowl is kind of like a plate and a bowl at the same time. I love that the sides of the bowl are low, which helps baby with scooping and seeing their food. I’ve had mine for two years and it’s held up great!

  4. Bumkins Smock Bib: One of my all time favorites (I have several from different brands!) It is lightweight and has elastic around the wrists so no food ends up on the inside of the sleeves! It is machine washable (don’t put in the dryer).

  5. EZPZ Tiny Cup: The perfect size for little hands and for new drinkers! I recommend offering a previously offered PUREE in the cup first and fill it to the brim. This helps little ones quickly understand that there is something in the cup worth drinking AND it brings a familiar taste to a new activity. Open cup drinking helps with jaw strength and oral coordination, so I recommend offering right when starting solids and practicing during meal times!

  6. Nuby Dipeez: Oftentimes when self-feeding, babies will stick the opposite end of the spoon in their mouth, which can be great for teething, but not so great for ingesting food! With this two-sided spoon, no end is the “wrong” end, and both ends have different textures on them so your little is eating from two different spoons at once.

  7. Crinkle Cutter: $5 and has SO many uses. First, use it to slice soft solids that are slippery. It makes them wavy and gives baby a better grip on holding them. Cutting avocado, mango, peaches, banana, etc. is my fave! Then, when your little one becomes a toddler, this is a great and safe tool for them to help with food prep! They can cut up foods for dinner using this little tool- fun for them and helpful for you!

  8. Num Num Spoons: These flat spoons are great! First, I like to use them without food during baby’s first few experiences in the high chair. Baby can practice bringing these spoons to their mouth and use them like teethers before puree or mashed solids are put on. Then, when they are introduced with food, baby is more familiar with them and more likely to accept bites! My favorite purees: avocado mashed with water, a ripe banana mashed, and sweet potato! No blending required.

  9. Lalo Highchair: This is my favorite high chair by far. It’s lightweight, made of non-toxic materials, has a great support cushion, an adjustable footrest, and it looks great in the home! I have used for both of my littles and would select it again and again! Make sure to grab the infant insert and the play legs so you can use this chair from 5-6 months to school-age! My code “EATPLAYSAY” saves 10%!

  10. Catchy Food Catcher: This is something I didn’t think I would love until I actually used it, and now I can’t envision a meal without it! Babies are so messy (which is good), but your floor will be covered (which is not so ideal), so this really helps catch the mess. Also, food that falls on the catcher can be used again! My daughter is a spoon dropper, so this really comes in handy during meals. They make a version of this catcher for tons of different high chairs! Use code “EATPLAYSAY10” to save 10% at checkout!

  11. Nuby Masher: This tool quickly mashes down any food to make it safer to offer to baby. I like to mash down banana and add some peanut butter, or take a chili or mixed texture, add some water, and mash down so the texture is more cohesive. Take it with you to a restaurant so you can offer your food to your baby!

  12. Olababy Straw Cup: This cup is my absolute favorite! First, it can teach straw drinking by plugging the hole in the lid with your finger and squeezing the liquid up the straw. Once baby realizes that liquid comes up, their suck reflex usually kicks in and they start to drink on their own. I recommend introducing right after starting solids- so around 6-7 months of age.

  1. Baby Jogger City Mini: We have this and love - it handles like a Honda Civic. It can fold up with one hand AND stores easily in the trunk or SUV.

  2. Portable Changing Pad: If you’re traveling light, this is great for diaper changes on-the-go. It has a compartment for wipes and a few diapers, etc. and can be worn as a wristlet - or keep in your car for quick changes.

  3. Shopping Cart/High Chair Cover: A MUST HAVE for both restaurants and the grocery store! I love how it provides some cushion for smaller babies, and it has a drink older and teether holder! Just pop in the washer when you’re done and it’s good to go.

  4. Ceres Chill Breastmilk Chiller: Pumping on the go or working long days? The Ceres Chill can keep breastmilk chilled for up to 20 hours - just add ice! When Jenna was working 16 hour days without access to refrigeration, she used this…it works!

  5. Formula Dispenser: If using formula, this is great to measure formula ahead of time and mix into a bottle when you’re on-the-go!

  6. Wildbird Aerial Carrier: The comfiest carrier I own! Every mom should look into one of these - the shoulder and back support are so great and I love that there is a piece to flip up to provide more head support or try and darken baby’s sleep space if they are taking a nap in it.

  7. Stroller Hooks: These have a foam handle so you can clip your purse or diaper bag on the stroller handle and go! Super handy when you want to have everything you need right at your fingertips.

  8. Portable Sound Machine: This is a game changer. Clip it near the carseat or stroller while baby naps on-the-go, or use it in a hotel room, etc. for a familiar white noise to fall asleep to. We love ours.

  9. Tush Baby: I LOVE this hip carrier. For about 4-5 months and up, it takes all the pressure off your back and it has pockets! I use it as a diaper bag when we run into places like the store or library. It is amazing. And it has a Snug Attachment to make it completely hands-free. Code “EATPLAYSAYsaves 15% on their website.

  10. Universal Stroller Caddy: If your stroller doesn’t have adequate storage, this universal stroller organizer is fantastic. Keep your phone, drink(s), wallet, gloves, or anything else within arms reach. Jenna and I both have this one and love it!

  11. Busy Mat: This is a lifesaver. There is a larger version, but depending on how large your table is at the restaurant, it might be too big. So smaller can be safer! Suction it to the table, use the two inside sections as a place to put food, attach teethers or utensils to the strings and nothing will hit the floor. PRO TIP: If you’re having trouble getting the mat to stick on the table, put a few drops of water or coconut oil under them to help them stick.

  12. Hiccapop Portable High Chair: So you don’t have to lug your high chair to grandma’s house or on vacation, this travel high chair is a great option! It can secure to a dining chair like a booster or just be used on the floor. It has a wide seat, so it can grow with your baby into toddlerhood. TIP: Roll up some towels or blankets on either side of baby if they don’t seem so stable in this chair. Can help them sit up better!

  1. Olababy Electric Nail Trimmer: An electric shaver that requires no clipping! Just hold it over baby’s nail and it gently files down.

  2. Dr. Brown’s Silicone Finger Brush: Get in your baby’s mouth early! Use this brush to lightly brush their lips and gums and give their oral sensory system some input pre teeth. You can even use this as baby’s first toothbrush once that first tooth pops through.

  3. NoseFrida Snot Sucker: This thing is genius. It’s great for clearing out baby’s snot, especially when they’re congested, and you can control the suction. You have to put the nozzle in your mouth, but don’t worry - there’s a blocker so you’re not eating snot!

  4. FridaBaby Head-Hugging Hair Brush: I loved this brush for my kids, and it’s great to help with cradle cap. The bristles are gentle, and it comes with a comb, too.

  5. OogieBear: This handy tool swipes boogers out of baby’s nose and wax out of outer ear without going too far in.

  6. Ear Thermometer: We have this one! It’s a good alternative to rectal thermometers for babies and I would recommend using for ages 6 months and up!

  7. Nora’s Nursery Cloth Diapers: These are the cloth diapers I used with P! I love the bamboo liner inserts and prints. They double as swim diapers, too! A good sustainable option for diapers if you’re looking for one.

  8. Water Wipes: Plastic-free wipes with two ingredients - 99.99% water and fruit extract. They’re gentle on baby’s skin and have no scent whatsoever.

  9. Primally Pure Baby Balm: The BEST baby lotion and diaper cream. Made with all-natural ingredients and tallow, it keeps any redness and rashes at bay. Code “EATPLAYSAY” saves 15%.

  10. Keekaroo Peanut Changing Pad: This is the best changing pad! Shaped like a peanut, it’s non-slip but also smooth, and waterproof - all you have to do is wipe it down. My friend Teri has it, and it’s amazing.

  1. Baby’s Very First Touchy-Feely Animals: Black and white images paired with touch-and-feel components are the perfect pair! One picture on each page keeps things simple and makes it easy for baby to learn names of items! The different touch-and-feel spots motivate reaching and page turning to see what’s next!

  2. Don’t Tickle the Hippo!: Touch-and-feel mixed with sound books are great, as baby can imitate by reaching and touching the spots you touch AND by trying to imitate the sound on each page! There are several books in this series and this is one of my faves!

  3. Things That Go: This book has only one picture on each page and light and bright colors to draw baby’s attention. It’s short and sweet and perfect for repetition.

  4. Woodland Tummy Time Book: This book folds into a three-sided tummy time toy! It has a mirror, soft pages to turn, and lots of bright colors! Books that double as toys are a great way to expose baby to even more reading time in fun ways!

  5. Crinkle Pets: A fold-out crinkle book that’s PERFECT for tummy time! I love that this book has black and white images on both sides and it’s easy for baby to hold. Read with baby in tummy time, on your lap, or lay the book on their chest in the play gym and let them explore the crinkly sounds!

  6. Baby’s Very First Noisy Nursery Rhymes: Soothing sounds that keep baby’s attention, each page has a corresponding button that plays a short tune! This book has been a favorite for both of my kids in their first year especially.

  7. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Crinkle Book: This is a great book for baby 0-4 months. Put it on their chest so they can tap it with their hands and let them explore it in tummy time too!

  8. Peek-a Who?: I LOVE this book! It’s one of my favorites - easy to hold and repetitive for imitation!

  9. See, Touch, Feel: One of my favorite books for incorporating sensory play. It has raised textures, finger trails, and more. Take turns scratching the ribs on the xylophone or banging the drum. Super interactive!

  10. Where is Baby’s Belly Button?: This is a great lift-the-flap book with big, easy to manage flaps. It motivates baby to find what’s next!

  11. Whose Feet?: This cute cloth book helps identify animals in a fun way- by their feet! This is a great book to start reading around 3 months + and your toddler will still enjoy it!

  12. Brown Bear, Brown Bear Slide-and-See: Eric Carle books are such classics! This book is great for finger isolation (15 month milestone)- work on using the pointer finger to slide the flaps and find the animals.
