St. Patty’s Day Favorites

Happy St. Patty’s Day! This holiday is small, but celebrations are always fun! Here are some great, low-cost fun and functional gifts for your little one! Be sure to see the cute outfits at the bottom!

  1. Nuby Teether: This is my favorite teether that I buy it for pretty much every new mom I know. This bristles on this teether are soothing to baby’s gums, it doesn’t go too far back in the mouth, and it’s ring shape makes it easy to hold and mouth. It also comes with its own hygenic carrying case, which is just an added bonus.

  2. Corn on the Cob Toothbrush: This lives up to the hype. It’s a great first toothbrush for baby before their first tooth erupts. It’s easy to hold as it has two little handles, and the bristles provide nice texture to baby’s oral sensory system. I recommend introducing around 3 months of age, help baby hold at first, and then let them play and mouth it!

  3. Moonjax Teether: This teether is great because it is easy to hold and has little nubs on it like fingers! The best part is that they can’t go too far back in baby’s mouth to elicit a gag, so they are great for chomping. Also easy to clean top rack of dishwasher or in sanitizer.

  4. Hungry Caterpillar Crinkle Book: When I think of spring time holidays, I think of Eric Carle. This is a great book for baby 0-4 months. Put it on their chest so they can tap it with their hands and let them explore it in tummy time too!

  5. Jackie the Giraffe Teether:This is an iconic teether! With her thicker head and body, she helps baby open wide. This is a great teether to have in play as baby mouths other toys, too.

  6. Cactus Stroller Toy: Sometimes babies can get antsy in the stroller or carseat, so dangling a little toy helps them stay content. It also promotes reaching, which starts to occur around 4 months of age. Perfect color scheme for St. Patty’s!

  7. Olababy Training Spoons: I LOVE these spoons- they are my favorite for 6-12 months. They have a nice flexible bowl of the spoon that makes scooping easy when baby starts to try and scoop, and they are a great length for self-feeding a pre-loaded spoon.

  8. ezpz Bowl: This suction bowl is kind of like a plate and a bowl at the same time. I love that the sides of the bowl are low, which helps baby with scooping and seeing their food. I’ve had mine for two years and it’s held up great!

  9. Pop-up Toy: This is a great toy for baby who has started sitting up with support or who is pushing up high in tummy time! They can easily push down the pop ups and you can model functional words like “up, down, more, pop” and signs like up and down and clapping, too!

  10. Olababy Spoon + Fork: This set is great for a child approaching 12 months of age. Using a fork is not expected until spoon use becomes independent, and most start using a fork around 15 months. The harder silicone fork in this package is great since little ones won’t hurt their teeth biting down on it!

  11. ezpz Mini Cup w/straw: This is a perfect sized cup for teaching open cup drinking! Little hands can hold it and it has a nice weight to the bottom. My favorite trick when using as an open cup is to teach parents is to fill it to the brim with a familiar PUREE that they have eaten on a spoon, and bring it to baby’s lips so they immediately get a taste of what is inside! And you don’t have to tilt it too much to give them some. Over time you can add some water to it so it’s not so thick and you work towards drinking plain water, but that skill takes time and isn’t expected to be done independently until 18 months. So starting at 6 months gives baby plenty of time to practice!

  12. Avocado Guitar: A FAVE! Baby will love to try and spin the avocado pit, push the light up buttons, and hear the riffs on the guitar. It’s been a favorite for my littles from 3-18 months!

  13. P Grabber Teether: This Ark Grabber is very tough- making it great for babies who have recently started solids and are starting to chew more! The resistance helps strengthen baby’s jaw, and the shape of this teether makes it easy to hold! It’s a little longer, so it goes further back in baby’s mouth, making it a great teether to help push the gag reflex back and practice chewing in the back of the mouth.

  14. Olababy Cup: My all-time FAVORITE cup! I love that it’s made from silicone, has a straw stopper so baby can’t pull the straw out, has a weighted bottom so it’s harder to knock over, is a great size for little hands, and doubles as an open cup. My FAVORITE part is that it teaches straw drinking! Plug the hole in the lid with your finger and gently squeeze the cup so liquid goes up the straw and into baby’s mouth. They quickly learn that if they suck on the straw, liquid will come up and BAM, they just learned how to drink from a straw.

  1. ezpz Mini Mat: This suction mat sticks really well to most high chairs! It’s a great size and it divides food so baby can clearly see their choices. Plus, it’s great for toddlers, so you’ll get a lot of use out of it!

  2. Chalk: Great for the weather getting warmer and getting outside to draw and create!

  3. Num Num Straw Cup: A great on-the-go option for littles learning how to drink! It has a short straw and no valve, so the flow of the water is not impacted. Handles help baby stabilize. It’s all around a great cup!

  4. Toddler Cutting Set: This set is so cute for your toddler to help you in the kitchen! It easily slices things like bread, softer fruits and veggies and cheese. They will feel like a little chef next to you!

  5. Thermos Funtainer: These are my favorite for toddlers on-the-go! These are easy for toddlers to open- push the button, drink, and close the lid. And they fit in most car seat cup holders.

  6. Duplo Set (Wild Animals): This little set of Duplo blocks is a great gift for a small holiday. It also is a great way to play pretend with a more concrete toy. Great for 18 months and older!

  7. Hello Bugs Sticker Book: You know that I LOVE these books. We also have the Animal Habitats and All Around Town and they are great for restaurants, doctor’s offices, waiting rooms, anything! So many pages, and each sticker page has a coloring page too- so it’s a coloring book and sticker book all in one.

  8. Dinosaur Drawing Pad: The modern Etch-a-Sketch - this is so much fun for the car or anywhere your little one needs to wait. A great gift for your 2 year old +!

  9. Munchkin Utensil Set: This stainless steel set is ideal for 18 months or older, as spoon and fork use become independent. These wash and wear well, as I have had for 2 years and use daily!

  10. Sensory Pop Tubes: These are super low cost and super fun! Make funny noises, use as a megaphone, and even wear as a cool necklace.

  1. Elmo’s Lucky Day: For you Sesame Street lovers, this book is so cute! “Elmo” is such a great word to repeat to baby as it’s easy to imitate, too!

  2. You Shamrock My World: Love a good play on words! This book talks about love and is a great book for bedtime with your little one!

  3. Happy Leprechaun: Love these little finger puppet books! Stick your finger in the leprechaun to make him move about! Great for working on finger isolation, too for your toddler.

  4. The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s Garden Friends: Love anything Hungry Caterpillar! This touch-and-feel book will keep your baby and toddler engaged as they look for the next piece to touch!

  5. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Eats Lunch: This book all about foods and colors is so cute! You can get to playing pretend with food right after- it’s one of our favorite book and toy pairs (this book + with fake food and the toy kitchen).

  6. Five Little Leprechauns: This book can be read in a sing-songy voice, which is great for prompting imitation!

  7. Happy St. Patrick’s Day: This is a classic book you can bring out again and again each year!

  8. Baby’s First St. Patrick’s Day: Labeling the items surrounding St. Patrick’s Day, this is a great book with one item per page and focuses on functional vocabulary!

  9. Spot’s Lucky Day: Love Spot and all his hiding places! This book has big flaps where you can lift and find where Spot is hiding. Keeps your little one engaged the entire time!

  10. The Very Hungry Caterpillar: The classic in a board book! Go through all of the items that the Caterpillar eats and label them along the way! Keep pretend play food close by to include!

  11. The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s ABC: Great for a toddler, this book talks about letters and functional words that go along with the first letter! If you have a baby, just point out the items and leave the letter recognition for later!

  1. Lucky Charm Onesie: So cute for any baby! If you’re not into the “My First ___” onesies, this is a great alternative.

  2. Little Planet Organic Cotton Dress: Love Little Planet- it’s the softest cotton and washes and wears so well!

  3. Luckiest Kid Pajamas: Love getting PJs for holidays because they can wear them over and over afterwards and it doesn’t matter! Christmas pajamas in June? Sure!

  4. Burt’s Bees Organic Cotton Clover Sleeper: This is just ADORABLE. And can match with the one below.

  5. Burt’s Bees Organic Cotton 2-Piece Clover Pajamas: Adding to cart for my toddler! So cute!

  6. Little Planet Organic Cotton Onesies: Love the cool gender neutral prints on these, and how they are perfect for spring!
