Shopping for maternity bathing suits is hard! Your body is changing all the time and it’s hard to know what will fit, let alone what will be flattering. A maternity bathing suit should support your growing bump and your chest. It needs to feel comfortable, too!
When I realized I would be nearing my third trimester while visiting family in Florida, I went on a search to find the best maternity swimsuits.
I wanted a one-piece and two-piece option to change it up depending on how I felt. After quite literally diving into the deep end of maternity swimwear research, here’s what came out as front-runners.
I bought this bathing suit for our trip to Florida and it didn’t disappoint. It’s SO comfortable and I feel confident in it! The ruffles on the straps and cut-out in the center make it cute and flattering.
The tie in the back helps customize the fit to your body. And overall this suit provides good coverage. It does have a V-neck so you could also wear this postpartum and it would be nursing-friendly.
What moms love:
Affordable maternity one-piece
Fits true to pre-pregnancy size
Ruffle sleeves are so cute and protect shoulders from the sun (but don’t skimp on sunscreen!)
Good coverage
Washes well
Other Considerations:
Straps are not adjustable, so not as much support for the bust
Some women note the top of this suit doesn’t fit smaller chests as well
This one-piece maternity bathing suit is highly rated! The material and ruching allow for room to grow. It’s a bathing suit that can last through your whole pregnancy.
Another bonus is its affordability. Maternity bathing suits aren’t cheap and can run over $100. This Summer Mae swimsuit is just $40!
The top of the suit has buttons, so it can work as a nursing-friendly postpartum option as well! It’s cute, comfortable, and comes in tons of colors.
What moms love:
A maternity bathing suit that can last through all trimesters
This is a classic, V-neck maternity one-piece bathing suit with no frills. It’s highly rated on Amazon and available in 7 solid colors. The adjustable straps provide more support for your bust.
Pregnant women say it fits well in all the right places while still being comfortable!
I bought this 2 piece maternity swimsuit when I was prepping for our trip to Florida and loved it. It’s comfortable and versatile. You can wear it with or without the straps. The high-waisted bottoms are flattering and stay up once you hit ~22-25 weeks.
Bonus: a two-piece maternity swimsuit makes going to the bathroom so much easier!
What moms love:
Flattering fit with fun color and pattern combos
Full coverage high-waisted bottoms
Comfortable bandeau top
Removable straps
Washes well
Other Considerations:
If your boobs have gotten really big in pregnancy, size up
If you’re super busty, this may not be the maternity swimsuit for you
If you’re looking for an affordable maternity bikini that provides good coverage, this suit is for you. Its v-neck top and high-waisted bottoms are flattering and comfortable. Women say it allows for room to grow throughout pregnancy, too.
What moms love:
Affordable maternity swimsuit
Flattering while offering good coverage in bust and booty area
Removable padding in bust area
Other considerations:
Bikini top isn’t as supportive, especially if you’re more busty
Okay, so this isn’t advertised as a maternity bathing suit, but we’ve seen women size up and wear this while pregnant! It’s such a flattering one-piece with the one-shoulder detail making it feel feminine and fashionable.
This suit provides full coverage over the booty, and has been referred to as the Spanx of swimwear in reviews. What’s not to love?
What moms love:
Feminine & flattering
Designed to fit every body
Long torso option available
Can be worn postpartum
Other considerations:
More expensive
Not technically maternity swimwear, so sizing could be tricky
I am so impressed that swimsuits like this exist. Albion makes maternity- and mom-friendly swimsuits! While this swimsuit is more of an investment, it’s built to last.
The ruched design and full coverage allow it to grow with you during pregnancy and be used postpartum, too.
Not only is it mom-friendly, it’s also bust-friendly. The optional off the shoulder design is elegant and flattering. It’s a swimsuit that will make you feel gorgeous at any stage.
What moms love:
Can be worn before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and postpartum
Flattering and supportive ruching
Comfortable
Fits long torsos
Fully lined
Other considerations:
More expensive option
May start feeling tight during the third trimester

Most parenting resources come from a single expert's perspective, but development doesn't really work that way.
You can't fully understand feeding without input from both a dietitian and a feeding specialist. You can't properly address milestones without OT, PT, and SLP perspectives working together. That's why every Eat Play Say resource is created collaboratively by our entire team — giving you the most comprehensive guidance possible, all in one place.
